The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Mohali is an Institute of National Importance, established in 2007 by the Ministry of Education (formerly the Ministry of Human Resource Development), Government of India, with the objective of conducting undergraduate and postgraduate research in frontier areas of science and providing high-quality science education and research opportunities. The Institute is seeking dedicated, committed, and eligible citizens of India to fill the following non-faculty positions on a direct recruitment basis.

 

IISER Mohali Non-Teaching Jobs 2026

Sl. No. Name of Post Educational Qualifications:
1 Superintending Engineer Candidates must possess a B.E. / B.Tech. degree in Civil Engineering with a First Class (or an equivalent grade) from a recognized university or institution, along with a good academic record.

Experience: Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of regular service experience as a ‘Senior Executive Engineer’ in a position at Pay Level-12 (or an equivalent level)—or 10 years of regular service experience as an ‘Executive Engineer’ at Pay Level-11 (or an equivalent level)—within the Central Government, State Government, Semi-Government organizations,

Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Statutory or Autonomous bodies, Government Universities, Institutions of National Importance, or any other reputed institution under the Central or State Government. This experience must specifically relate to building construction projects, in accordance with the norms prescribed by the CPWD.

2 Deputy Registrar A minimum of 55% marks in a Master’s degree, or an equivalent grade on a point scale; and

Experience:
5 years of administrative experience as an ‘Assistant Registrar’ in a position equivalent to ‘Pay Matrix Level 10’ (Pre-revised: PB-3, GP 5400) in a Government/Government Research Institution/University/Statutory Body/High-status Government Organization.

3 Deputy Librarian 1. A Master’s degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science, with a minimum of 55% marks, or an equivalent grade on a point scale where the grading system is followed.

2. A Ph.D. degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science/Archives and Manuscript Conservation.

3. Evidence of innovative library services, including the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in libraries.

4. A minimum of 8 years of work experience as an ‘Assistant Librarian’ (Academic Pay Level-10) in the library of any Higher Education Institution/University, Institution of National Importance, or any other large scientific or technical organization (of which at least 2 years of experience must be at Academic Pay Level-11).

4 Principal Technical Officer
(Grade-II) (Lab)
 B.E. / B.Tech. or M.Sc. / BS-MS degree in a relevant field;
With a First Class or equivalent grade (6.5 on a 10-point scale);
And a consistently excellent academic record.Experience:
5 years of relevant experience in Scientific / Technical / ICT / or other related fields,
Holding a position at ‘Pay Level 11’ or an equivalent level.
5 Senior Technical Officer (IT) B.E. / B.Tech. or M.Sc./ BS-MS Degree, in relevant field
with first class or equivalent grade (6.5 in 10-point scale)
and consistently excellent Academic record. Experience:
5 years of relevant experience in Scientific / Technical /
ICT / other relevant areas in the post carrying Pay Level
10 or equivalent post
6 Assistant Executive Engineer
(Civil/Electrical)
First class Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical
Engineering from a recognized University/Institute. Experience:
5 years of relevant experience in the Pay Level-7 or
above as an Assistant Engineer in the field of construction
of Institutional Building, maintenance, designing and
planning of civil works as per CPWD norms.
7 Senior Superintendent Master’s Degree in any discipline with at least 50% marks
or its equivalent grade. Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in Pay Level-6 or above as
Junior Superintendent or equivalent post in handling

8 Library Superintendent A Master’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a recognized university, with a minimum of 55% marks.
OR
A Master’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science, with a minimum of 55% marks.Experience:
5 years of experience in the field of Library and Information Science—at ‘Pay Level-6’ or above—specifically involving Digital Library Management, Library Automation, and Library Networking.
9 Senior Technical Assistant A B.Tech / B.E. or M.C.A. / M.Tech. / M.Sc. (CS or IT) degree—with a First Class or an equivalent grade;
OR
A Master’s degree in Science in a relevant discipline—with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade.Experience:
The candidate must possess at least 5 years of work experience in a position equivalent to ‘Pay Level-6’ within the Central / State Government, a Semi-Government organization, a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), a Government Autonomous Body, a Government University, a Government Institution of National Importance, or a reputed scientific or technological institution.

Additionally, the candidate must possess any other supplementary qualifications, experience, or skills as deemed necessary by the respective institution—as may be specified in the advertisement from time to time.

10 Physical Education Instructor 1. A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or Sports Sciences, with a minimum aggregate score of 55% or an equivalent grade; AND a minimum of three years of full-time work experience in a relevant field acquired after obtaining the Bachelor’s degree.

Desirable Qualifications:
1. A Diploma in Coaching from the NIS or an equivalent institution; OR a Master’s degree in Physical Education/Sports Sciences. Additionally, as part of the selection process, candidates must pass a Physical Fitness Test in accordance with the relevant UGC regulations.

2. The applicant must possess specialized expertise (Specialization) in at least one sport—such as: Weightlifting, Tennis, Squash, Volleyball, Hockey, Swimming, Football, Cricket, Table Tennis, or Badminton.

3. Preference will be given to candidates who have won medals in Inter-University or National-level sports competitions.

4. A minimum of one year of work experience in a government body/autonomous organization, university, or college is required.

11 Counsellor A Master’s degree (with 50% marks) in Psychology (Clinical or Counseling) or Social Work (Medical and Psychiatric), accompanied by practical experience.

Experience:
5 years of experience in providing counseling regarding students’ educational, psychosocial, and emotional issues at a renowned educational institution or an established organization.

12 Nurse A postgraduate degree in Nursing from a recognized university or institution (with 50% marks).
OR
A First Class B.Sc. (Nursing) degree (4-year course) from a recognized institution or university.
AND
Must be registered as a Nurse and Midwife with the Indian Nursing Council or a State Nursing Council.Experience: 5 years of clinical work experience in a hospital with a minimum capacity of 50 beds, recognized by the Central or State Government or the Medical Council of India.
13 Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical) A First Class Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, HVAC, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates must possess at least 5 years of field-level experience in Civil, Electrical, or HVAC works within building construction or maintenance projects; preference will be given to candidates with experience working in organizations or institutions that execute projects in accordance with CPWD, PWD, or government regulations.
OR
A First Class Diploma in Electrical, HVAC, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institution. Additionally, candidates must possess at least 8 years of field-level experience in Civil, Electrical, or HVAC works within building construction or maintenance projects; preference will be given to candidates with experience working in organizations or institutions that execute projects in accordance with CPWD, PWD, or government regulations.
14 Junior Translator (Rajbhasha) A Master’s degree in Hindi from a recognized university, wherein English was a compulsory or elective subject, or the medium of examination, at the degree level;
OR
A Master’s degree in English from a recognized university, wherein Hindi was a compulsory or elective subject, or the medium of examination, at the degree level;
OR
A Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English from a recognized university, wherein the medium of examination was Hindi and English was a compulsory or elective subject, or the medium of examination, at the degree level;
OR
A Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English from a recognized university, wherein the medium of examination was English and Hindi was a compulsory or elective subject, or the medium of examination, at the degree level;
OR
A Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English from a recognized university, wherein both Hindi and English were compulsory or elective subjects at the degree level, or one of these two was the medium of examination while the other was a compulsory or elective subject;
OR
A minimum of two years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa (English to Hindi) in departments of the Central or State Government (including various undertakings or agencies of the Government of India), print and electronic media, publishing departments/units/institutions, various agencies working on behalf of the government, or reputed private organizations.Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in an office environment and typing in Hindi/English. Excellent computer skills for handling correspondence and managing office files and documents, along with complete proficiency in both English and Hindi. Knowledge of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa.
15 Pharmacist A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (with 55% marks) from an institution recognized by the Central or State Government.

Must be registered as a “Pharmacist” under the ‘Pharmacy Act, 1948’.

Experience:
5 years of relevant work experience as a Pharmacist in a reputable hospital or institution—including those under the Central Government, State Government, recognized private hospitals, nursing homes, or pharmacies—having a minimum capacity of 50 beds.

16 Junior Technical Assistant A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, or Engineering in a relevant field, with a minimum aggregate score of 55%.

Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in the operation and maintenance of scientific equipment within laboratories—specifically in the fields of Biology, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemical Waste Treatment; OR in laboratories related to Virtual Classrooms, Computer Networking and IT, E-classrooms, Audio-Visual equipment, CCTV networking, etc.—gained at a laboratory, educational institution, research organization, or an institution of national or international repute.

17 Junior Office Assistant (MS)
Administration
A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 50% marks;
Along with excellent computer proficiency in office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Experience:
4 years of relevant experience in an office environment.
18 Junior Office Assistant (MS)-
Accounts
Bachelor’s Degree with 50% in any discipline with
excellent computer proficiency in Office Applications like
Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
Experience:
4 years relevant experience in office environment.
19 Attendant Matriculation or a three-year diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or institution.

Experience:
Must possess 3 years of experience in the relevant field within a laboratory, educational institution, research center, or an organization of national or international repute. This experience must pertain to the operation of scientific equipment in fields such as Biology, Veterinary Science, Chemistry, Physics, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Chemical Engineering, chemical waste treatment laboratories, etc. Additionally, experience in areas such as virtual classrooms, computer networking and IT, e-classrooms, audio-visual equipment, CCTV networking, culinary arts and catering, etc., will also be considered acceptable.
